Inspiration

Recently I have been quite busy and haven't had time to think about some of my career motives and what I want to achieve in life, some really great quotes came up as a result of scouring the internet for photographers in Vancouver. The name Brett Beadle came up (http://www.brettbeadle.com/blog/). This guy is incredible to put it simply and I really hope to catch up with him when I move to Vancouver next year. He has some awesome stuff on his blog along with a lot of handy bits of inspiration which I wanted to share, so here are some quotes and a seriously inspiration poem by Charles Bukowski; “So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half-asleep, even when they’re busy doing things they think are important. This is because they’re chasing the wrong things. The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning.” – Morrie Schwartz, Tuesdays with Morrie

"A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and goes to bed at night and in between does what he wants to do.” — Bob Dylan

Roll The Dice by Charles Bukowski

if you’re going to try, go all the way. otherwise, don’t even start.

if you’re going to try, go all the way. this could mean losing girlfriends, wives, relatives, jobs and maybe your mind.

go all the way. it could mean not eating for 3 or 4 days. it could mean freezing on a park bench. it could mean jail, it could mean derision, mockery, isolation. isolation is the gift, all the others are a test of your endurance, of how much you really want to do it. and you’ll do it despite rejection and the worst odds and it will be better than anything else you can imagine.

if you’re going to try, go all the way. there is no other feeling like that. you will be alone with the gods and the nights will flame with fire.

do it, do it, do it. do it.

all the way all the way. you will ride life straight to perfect laughter, it’s the only good fight there is.
