Project “1 Year On” Torrrronto

One year ago there was a strike going on in Toronto. The city council garbage men and women were protesting against changes to their work contracts which had huge concessions put against them. It seemed like nearly every bin in the city was full to the brim and bags were piled up next to them. It was interesting to see such a civilized city change like that, and I was surprised the residents of the city would it happen to them. The people of Toronto seem to be at the mercy of the government, as seen during the recent G20 conference where basic human rights were taken away to justify the ridiculous 1billion dollar security budget. Anyways, enough ranting. The city is great! I loved the Kensington markets and if your ever in town say gday to Vicky at Ronnie's Local 069. Best bar in town!!!

Project “1 Year On” All along the Prairies

Apologies I have been away in Tofino having the time of my life so I didn't get a chance to post this yesterday. So "around" this time last year I sadly had to depart Saskatoon and make my way via rail to the bustling city of Toronto. 56 hours of train ride lay ahead with nothing for entertainment but myself and my thoughts. It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I think I spoke about 10 words the entire trip and that was whilst ordering dinner. It was a perfect time to reflect on what I had seen so far, process some images on the lappy or jot down thoughts in my newest journal. I love ferries and trains, the longer the trip the better. They put you in a situation where there is nothing else to do but enjoy the ride, stare out the window, reflect on the past, contemplate the future, read a book, watch a movie or just relax and let your mind wander. Even thinking about the train ride brings a smile to my face, I can't wait till the next one!
