Project “1 Year On” Riding the Icefields Parkway

So it was time to depart Jasper and head for the equally beautiful town of Banff. The only way to roll down is on the Icefields Parkway, often claimed to be one of the worlds top 10 most scenic drives. On the way down you pass by majestic waterfalls, 400+ year old glaciers, huge cliffs and valleys formed 76 million years ago, seemingly unreal colored lakes, bears, beavers, elk, deer, you name it they have it and you will probably get a chance to see it if you keep your eyes peeled. I highly recommend hiring a car or jumping on a bus tour so you can stop off along the way and attempt to take in the breathtaking scenery. I did the latter and thoroughly enjoyed every second of it. Managed to see 3 black bears and a grizzly, suffice to say I was pretty excited. But clearly not as excited as some of the tourists climbing out of their cars to get a close up happy snap of the black bears cub... not the most intelligent thing I've witnessed in my life time. Enjoy :)

Cheers

Project “1 Year On” The Canadian Rockies

After Canada day I had a couple of days to explore in and around Jasper and the majestic rocky mountains. I'm not much of a landscape photographer. I find it impossible to represent the beauty of the land compared to what I see in real life so I usually don't even get the camera out. It doesn't give me the same joy that I get from photographing the human element. However when in Rome you may as well take a photo of the Colosseum. Same goes here. Enjoy :) P.S. I was in a little bit of a self portrait reflective mood. 3 included.

Cheers. dt.
